Both young individuals deeply fall in love, leading them to secretly tie the knot. However, their love story takes a dark turn when the king, who also has feelings for Imoinda, orders her to join his harem. Upon learning that Imoinda is no longer a virgin, the king deceitfully sells her into slavery, concealing the truth from Oroonoko by claiming she has passed away.

Consequently, Oroonoko is sentenced to death, maintaining his composure as his captors ruthlessly dismember him.
